Stargate UAE is set to become the world’s largest and most advanced AI data center outside the United States. As the first international venture under OpenAI’s “OpenAI for Countries” program, it brings together global tech giants like OpenAI, Oracle, NVIDIA, and Cisco with the strategic vision of the United Arab Emirates. The 1-gigawatt cluster, expected to go live in 2026, signals the dawn of a new digital era—offering massive computing power and nationwide ChatGPT access to people across the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia.
With the unveiling of Stargate UAE, the United Arab Emirates takes a historic leap into the AI future. This is the first international deployment of OpenAI’s Stargate platform, launched under the new OpenAI for Countries initiative, in partnership with G42, Oracle, NVIDIA, Cisco, and SoftBank—with direct coordination from the U.S. government.
Set in Abu Dhabi, Stargate UAE will become one of the world’s largest and most advanced AI data centers: a 1-gigawatt cluster (scalable to 5GW), powered by solar, gas, and nuclear energy. The first 200MW phase will go live in 2026.
This project isn’t just infrastructure—it’s a bold symbol of global cooperation and the belief that secure, democratic AI can become a powerful force for human advancement and prosperity.
With a 2,000-mile service radius, Stargate UAE will provide cutting-edge AI capabilities to nearly half the world’s population—bringing access, innovation, and AI literacy to South Asia, Africa, and the Arab world. It also makes the UAE the first country to enable ChatGPT nationwide.
With a projected 2.5 million GPUs on a 10-square-mile campus, Stargate UAE eclipses all previous data centers—including those of Google, Microsoft, and Apple. It will become the world’s largest AI compute hub.
This initiative marks a monumental step toward democratized AI, with transformative potential across education, health, energy, governance, and science. The UAE is not just building capacity—it is shaping the future.
